But a cheap one reveals itself within days: the fabric shelf that should hold a stack of sweaters dips into a U-shape, the whole unit lists to one side, and the hooks that looked sturdy in the photo bend under real weight. What actually matters

• Reinforced shelves, not flimsy fabric. The shelf needs a rigid insert or stiffened edge. Plain fabric stretched between the sides is a hammock, not a shelf — it sags the moment you stack anything heavier than t-shirts.
• Hooks that don't bend. The hooks carry everything. Thin wire hooks spread open under a loaded unit and eventually the organizer slides off the rod entirely. Look for thicker, coated metal hooks.
